Members in the Alamo Orchid Society range from novices to experienced growers. We specialize in a wide diversity of orchids, from catts to paphs, from vandas to bulbos, from phals to the ever popular potpourri collection. We utilize different growing methods--under lights, in greenhouses, on windowsills, and outdoors.
The monthly Growers Group meeting provides an excellent opportunity for members to learn even more about orchids and share personal growing successes with fellow members. These informal meetings held at members' homes help new members meet and get to know their fellow members, and lets the more experienced growers share their experience, expertise and advice with novice growers.
The Group usually meets on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 p.m. (except during the summer). A tour of the host’s greenhouse is followed by an informal presentation on varied orchid topics, with plenty of time for questions and answers. You can also bring your problem plants for examination by our resident orchid experts.
Please join us. Check the home page for the date of this month’s meeting.
